Godfrey, Kind and Pustovar win USSMCA Championships
Forty four teams from ten states came to southern Minnesota in search of a USSMCA (United States Senior Men’s Curling Association) Championship. The Mapleton and Mankato Curling clubs served as host clubs. The USSMCA has three divisions based on age. Masters – all players must be over 68 years of age at the time of the Championships. Super Seniors – all over the age of 63 years of age. Seniors – all over the age of 55 years of age.
The Godfrey rink from Lodi Wi defeated the Bob Hammond rink from Centerville Wi – 7-3 to earn the 1st event Championship.
Bill Kind rink from Fairbanks AK defeated the David Carlson rink from Fort Wayne IN – 7-2
Paul Pustovar rink from Hibbing Mn defeated the Ken Starkey rink from Mapleton Mn 8-5
